IF U HAVE ABANDONED YOUR PARENTS, SEE BHOOTNATH
NP MOHAPATRA
A bhoot and a child. A Chaarfoot-teen Inch and six foot-six inch! A naughty boy and an angel. The communication is hilarious.
Banku, the central character of the story, and atma of Kailashnath, the bhoot of the story become friends when they meet each other at Goa in a secluded residence which belong to late Kailashnath. The Atma of Kailashnath is basically a loving personality and parental figure, who loves family life to lead with his immigrant son-wife-grandson, but it was not to be. The story is told in the last part of the drama, when the atma and Juhi Chawla, the mother of the child come front-to-front .His son and daughter in law decide to sell the paternal property and settle in America.Kailashnath refuses. How ever, following the departure of his son, he dies in harness.
Ultimately, Banku, the young son of tenant Sahrukh Khan and Juhi, performs a puja so that Angel Kailashnath, his best friend can become star angel and get mukti. The kid performs puja without understanding the meaning of mukti. The Atma and the child miss each other after the puja and mukti of Kailashnath.
Although a children movie, the story revolves around the current situation of estranged son and father relationship. The senior citizens are forgotten easily by the offspring’s who become self-centered after they go abroad and get married. Even they don’t have time to see maa when the mother expires. The message is clear and loud, no parent will like to leave their home under compulsion with the kids in the current circumstances because the kids have become self-centered.
The story carries a strong message that I reflected in my short story “ Pitrutwa Sandhan” a few days backs. The children, who have been brought up by their parents with a lot of difficulty and they abandon their parents for their selfishness after going abroad, must see this movie. Of course, it is a family movie and you can visit with your kids!

Dear Das Sir
Apatya sneha is the only one which does not have any expectation. That is why the parents suffer, because they want that their kid should get the best. of both of the Worlds. The issue is whether he can make adifference when it relates to his own kid. What about "Bala-Brudha saman" theology? NP

Dear np mohapatra
It is not a question of forgetting. First of all, who asked these parents to convert their children into dollar-spinning machines? Once they were made so, it becomes two worlds - each having its own set of compulsions, priorities and values. Further, since the habitat differs, parents feel suffocated within a few days of stay with their children. In the circumstances, you cannot just blame the children. Often they are undone despite their all good intentions to be of help to their parents....RK Das
